El Suzuki S-Cross Hybrid apenas ha cambiado estéticamente hace un año lo probamos en el canal (ver prueba) ahora presenta un emblema en el portón trasero de Hybrid lo cual identifica a este modelo del 2020 donde la marca ofrece esta alternativa con etiqueta ECO medio-ambiental.

En el frontal vemos un coche con mucha personalidad sus grandes ópticas enmarcan unas líneas muy arriesgadas que por supuesto puede gustar o no, pero es un diseño rompedor frente a sus competidores. Una gran parrilla en cromo con unas lamas en vertical que acompañan el logo de Suzuki preside la zona central que además muerde el paragolpes que da inicio a toda la zona con plástico negro mate y en sus laterales vemos los dos antinieblas y unas molduras en cromo para dar ese toque elegante al paragolpes.

Los plásticos negros mate en todas las protecciones pasan como era de esperar por el lateral, un lateral que además de continuar con las aristas del frontal pasamos a unas formas a partir del pilar A “puerta del piloto” hasta la trasera más regulares.

En el acabado GLX podemos destacar unas llantas 17″ con un acabado bi-tono pulido, además de ver los rieles en plata del techo, y las protecciones sobre el plástico negro en color plata.

Pasando a la trasera ya vemos un coche más normal en cuanto a líneas y diseño si lo comparamos con el frontal obviamente, unos grupos ópticos horizontales con buen formato y un portón que no es para nada pesado visualmente, un paragolpes con unas líneas algo más deportivas pero que dan ese aspecto campero necesario para todo el coche.

En la actualidad podemos ver coches muy tecnológicos “o bien llenos de pantallas” con diseños “minimalistas” o eso intenta, pero en este S-Cross olvídate de eso porque estamos ante un coche de los de siempre, o al menos de los últimos 10 años.

Los coches japoneses suelen tener interiores prácticos y con materiales de buen acabado como ajustes sencillos. El S-Cross es uno de esos coches que a pesar de tener un tamaño contenido en su interior podemos ver un espacio apto para 5 ocupantes.

Las plazas traseras tienen una buena forma general no sujetan perfectamente sin embargo tres adultos podrán viajar con relativa comodidad.  El mullido de los asientos es correcto y el tapizado es sencillo pero con buena sensación al tacto.

Las plazas delanteras son cómodas, la altura es correcta para visualizar en la conducción y tener todo a la mano. La ubicación de la pantalla multimedia es algo más baja de lo que podríamos pedir para no perder la visión de la conducción sin embargo se puede hacer uso sin problemas. En el techo tenemos un sistema retráctil con buen tamaño.

En el maletero tendrás un espacio con formas muy aprovechables, además la boca de carga es cómoda para entrar con objetos no tendremos problema con el portón porque es ligero.

Suzuki ofrece el S-Cross con esta única motorización un nuevo sistema SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) que integra un generador ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) de 48V que consta de una función de motor eléctrico, una batería de ion litio de 48 voltios y un convertidor DC/DC de 48V a 12V. La combinación de estos elementos reduce las emisiones de CO2 y el consumo de combustible.

La suavidad en la conducción es el punto más importante dentro de esta motorización la entrega entrega de par adicional mejora la respuesta en aceleración añadiendo par desde el motor eléctrico al motor de combustión, compensando posibles retardos del motor. Además el motor eléctrico aporta par al motor de combustión en fase de aceleración, haciendo que ésta sea suave hasta que el turbocompresor entre en acción.

Nuestro S-Cross de la prueba equipa el sistema inteligente All Grip de Suzuki, con cuatro modos de conducción seleccionables. El Sistema de tracción 4WD te permite elegir entre cuatro modos de conducción (Auto, Sport, Snow, y Lock) utilizando un mando ubicado junto a la consola central. No tenemos control de descenso y lo hemos echado en falta en nuestro test off-road, donde salió con nota positiva comportándose como un campero muy guerrero.

En el apartado de seguridad tenemos el control de velocidad adaptativo que combina la utilización del Control de Velocidad y el radar del Control Predictivo de frenada. Un radar de onda milimétrica mide la distancia con el vehículo situado delante. El sistema acelera o reduce la velocidad de nuestro vehículo para mantener la distancia de seguridad previamente establecida. Circulando con tráfico, el Suzuki S-Cross utiliza un radar de onda milimétrica para detectar el vehículo situado delante de nosotros. Ante la posibilidad de colisión, el vehículo actúa de la siguiente manera dependiendo de la situación.
