Bajo una plataforma ya conocida por la gama del GLC de la marca de la estrella, ahora nos ofrecen su primer modelo oficial 100% eléctrico, adaptando todo este chasis a un coche totalmente propulsado eléctricamente.

Si buscas un coche eléctrico a dia de hoy, a nivel de diseño muchos de ellos “en su mayoría” son de aspecto muy futurista, con formas extrañas incluso con algunos añadidos que jamás hubieses imaginado tener en un coche.

Sin embargo Mercedes-Benz con el EQC ha logrado mantener su diseño de manera fiel, respetando un ADN que nos permite identificar el coche como un modelo de la marca de la estrella, eso sí con unos toques especiales que nos hacen ver que no es un modelo cualquiera.

La edición que probamos es una especial llamada “1886” conmemorando el año del primer coche por parte de la marca, con este modelo además de sus respectivos anagramas tenemos una serie de detalles que vienen de serie, como las llantas 20″ con toques en azul, techo practicable, reposapies, entre otros detalles que en versiones iniciales tendras que comprarlos como opcional.

El color plata de esta unidad le siente muy bien con la mezcla de color con las opticas en negro brillo y cromos de las ventanas, dan un toque de elegancia en pleno.

El interior del EQC ha sido cuidado en todos sus detalles, a nivel de diseño marca una diferencia en cuanto a los modelos de la marca, cuando en su  mayoria usamos unos aireadores tipo turbina en este modelo encontramos un formato horizontal con toques en cobre. Pero en otros elementos nos dan la clara evidencia que estamos ante un Mercedes-Benz.

La tecnología está presente con dos grandes pantallas tanto para el cuadro de instrumentos como info-entretenimiento bajo el sistema MBUX que nos da una practicidad increíble. Los materiales usados en el interior de este EQC son muy correctos, elevados a un nivel premium, aunque en algunos zonas podemos tocar un plastico menos refinado en cuanto a terminación.

La tapicería general es en cuero azul con inserciones en alcantára y nombre “1886” en las plazas delanteras. Regulación eléctrica con memorias para perfiles de usuarios y calefacción en los asientos. Confort por todos los costados, incluso en las plazas traseras que podrás viajar cómodamente.

Si pasamos al maletero podremos ver un espacio de 400 litros de capacidad que frente a sus competidores esta algo por debajo, sin embargo sus formas y espacio es más que suficiente, debajo del suelo llevamos huecos para objetos como para guardar los cables de carga. Este punto le veo como algo deficiente porque si llevas carga en el maletero en tus viajes, tendras que hacer alguna recarga no podrás coger estos cables, quizás con un maletero pequeño en la zona delantera ayudaría algo en este caso.

Me subo a este EQC con los datos en mi cabeza de autonomía, lo primero que piensas cuando coges un coche eléctrico a dia de hoy, mi sorpresa es ver que la marca ofrece el dato de unos 400km de autonomía, por ende asumo que algo menos será el dato real, y así mismo ha sido en cuanto lo enciendo me percato de una autonomía de 288 kms con menos del 100% de batería.

La suavidad en la conducción es lo primero que vas a notar en este EQC, una insonorización impecable gracias a su motorización como ajustes del habitaculo, si es verdad que la aerodinámica en altas velocidades acusa algo mas de ruido pero nada alarmante.

La suspensión es muy confortable, en algunos momentos podrás sentir un aplomo muy considerado sobre todo si pasas por zonas irregulares es algo fuerte la sensación cuando vuelve a bajar, esto se debe al gran trabajo de mantener este SUV de 2.495kg equilibrado.

La frenada del EQC es correcta pasa algo similar con la suspensión, poder detener este mastodonte es un trabajo de equipo y todos sus componentes lo logran con una nota aceptable, pero el tema es que se nota y creo que no debería ser.

Al momento de conducir puedes disfrutar de la frenada regenerativa en varios niveles que van a permitir el uso del pedal de freno unicamente para detener por completo el coche, incluso hay un nivel que va en rueda libre y obtendras los 408cv en pleno, y ya te digo que si se siente todo su potencial.

La conducción es cómoda, confortable y con un plus de seguridad increíble, sus consumos son algo elevados nos ha dado una media combinada de 25 a 27 kW/h muy por encima de los competidores directos.

Otro tema es la carga en conexión de casa “normal” tardarás en cargar un 70% de bateria en más de 16 horas, es por ello que es obligatorio el uso de un Wallbox para que puedas disfrutar de este coche en pleno, que en conector rápido podrás cargar en unos 45 min aproximadamente, una buena comida para reponer energías en tu viaje.

El EQC como primer modelo oficial de Mercedes-Benz 100% eléctrico nos ofrece lo mejor de la marca con esta nueva filosofía de propulsión, tendrá muchos competidores y con el pasar del tiempo creo que será el enemigo de este modelo que tendrá como deberes el aumentar su autonomia, refinar su suspensión en terrenos irregulares y por su puesto su consumo. 

Para muchos será un problema, pero para la marca alemana no creo que lo sea, es un modelo muy bueno pero que no es para todos los bolsillos, partiendo de unos 77.000 € nos esperamos un SUV premium y el EQC lo es, esta versión 1886 es un mito ya para el mundo del motor, con el pasar del tiempo podreís presumir de la versión inicial de un coche especial como el EQC.
