Un monovolumen que se ha pasado al mundo SUV para poder sobrevivir

Sobrevivir o no, el detalle es que Peugeot ha apostado fuertemente por el mundo SUV en sus modelos 3008 y 5008, el 2008 está como un SUV compacto desde los principios pero estos modelos han llegado renovados, con nueva tecnología y motorizaciones mejoradas, el 5008 además deja de ofrecer un corte más monovolumen para ofrecer un aspecto más SUV.

Así como nos pasó en la prueba al volante del Peugeot 3008 2017 , nos encontramos con un interior que tanto es aspecto como en materiales llega a ser casi un acabado premium, digo casi porque en algunos materiales como los plásticos duros se nota que puede con el tiempo ofrecer una imagen de desgaste que penalice al resto del coche que tiene un buen acabado general y diseño muy futurista, inclusive nos ha hecho recordar al interior del DS5 con sus botones centrales tipo aeronave.

Su interior es de 5 plazas + 2 plazas adicionales, ofrece lo que muchos SUV de su segmento ofrecen como el Skoda Kodiaq por ejemplo que en comparación el checo se lleva la puntuación máxima en espacio del maletero con el uso de las 7 plazas con algo más de tamaño obviamente logra ofrecer mayor espacio, en cambio el francés ofrece un espacio contenido pero muy cómodo.

El motor 4 cilindros en línea 1.6 BlueHDi con 120cv (88kW) es una motorización un tanto floja para mover este SUV sobretodo si llevas las capacidades al completo, la caja automática EAT6 que lleva este modelo hace un trabajo excepcional porque ofrece un buen par y desarrollo de marchas que pasa desapercibido las posibles bajas de fuerza obteniendo un mayor empuje cuando le exiges al pedal de gas, sin llegar a un comportamiento dinámico extremo.

El puesto de conducción es de los mejores que he probado en los últimos SUV ya que enfoca todo al piloto y te hace sentir en una aeronave, además su volante tan pequeño nos da una sensación de ir en un coche más pequeño e inclusive en un berlina. Su confort de marcha sobre asfalto es excelente, fuera de él es aceptable tiene un buen comportamiento pero que puede verse penalizado si requieres de tracción total en superficies más complicadas y el 5008 no ofrece una tracción total, al menos en la unidad que nos han cedido.

El nuevo PEUGEOT 5008 GT-Line 2017 dispone, de serie, de prestaciones de seguridad de primer orden una estructura de caja optimizada para absorber impactos, seis airbags, ABS, ESP, además para que puedas anticiparte mejor a la carretera, mientras conduces te acompañarán una cámara multifunciones en la parte superior del parabrisa, doce sensores de ultrasonidos, un radar y dos cámaras de vídeo de 180°.

Con el 5008 tendrás que dejarte acompañar por las asistencias para la conducción de última generación: reconocimiento de señales de velocidad y recomendación, frenado automático de emergencia (Active Safety Brake) con alerta de riesgo de colisión (Distance Alert), alerta activa de cruce de línea involuntario, sistema activo de vigilancia de ángulo muerto, alerta de atención del conductor, regulador de velocidad adaptativo con función Stop, etc.

Por último, para una conducción urbana tranquila, disfruta de las asistencias para la maniobra y el estacionamiento.

El Peugeot 5008 siempre le he tenido un especial cariño porque desde que le probé en su generación pasada me ha encantado porque ofrecía un confort de marcha excelente, espacio y modularidad muy buenas. Además su precio era más que aceptable en la media de la categoría. Ahora en la categoría SUV tiene los papeles un poco más complicados por la excesiva oferta de competidores, no obstante creo que merece un buen tajo de presencia en el segmento porque tanto por precio y equipamiento es un claro candidato para una posible compra, tanto así que por precio seguramente haga algo de sombra a su hermano menor el 3008.
