En un mundo plagado de vehículos cada vez más grandes y voluminosos seguimos encontrando un pequeño grupo de coches que resisten como pueden el ataque de los SUV, me refiero a los coches urbanos.
Se trata de coches muy pequeños con acabados austeros y motores justos, es decir, medios de transporte con lo justo y necesario para transportarnos con comodidad por la ciudad.

La prueba de hoy la protagoniza el Seat Mii con su acabado más femenino, el “Cosmopolitan”.

Con su aspecto algo tosco, los toques de color le sientan muy bien.

Visto de perfil es un coche con un diseño demasiado soso, muy cuadrado y sin lineas llamativas. Eso sí, su forma cúbica le permite aprovechar el espacio interior como pocos saben, su habitabilidad para 4 pasajeros es muy correcta, al igual que el maletero, que con 30 litros menos que la anterior generación de su hermano mayor el Ibiza nos deja un gran sabor de boca para sus escasos 3,50 metros.

La unidad de prueba monta un bloque tricilíndrico gasolina 1.0 con una potencia de 75 cv, asociado a una caja manual de 5 velocidades.

El Seat Mii Cosmopolitan 5 puertas tiene un interior donde predominan los materiales duros pero compensados con buen ajuste y armonía para convertir su habitáculo en agradable a la vista. Su salpicadero lo hereda casi totalmente de su gemelo, el Volkswagen Up, con un climatizador muy intuitivo y una pantalla pequeña y sin tecnología táctil que, pese a todo, es muy completa y fácil de utilizar.
Sus asientos de diseño tiene buena calidad (alcántara y piel) y son cómodos, pero no agarran lo suficiente.
La habitabilidad en la parte trasera para dos adultos de menos de 1,80m de estatura es correcta, con espacio justo en las rodillas y una altura libre al techo aceptable.

Una vez al volante del “urbano” español, apreciamos la ya conocida rumorosidad del motor de tres cilindros, que junto a un aislamiento acústico algo mejorable nos permite reconocer el régimen de vueltas sin a penas esforzarnos, cosas de coches “low cost”.
El comportamiento del motor es correcto, empuja lo que esperamos de él, y sobre todo mantiene unos consumos bastante comedidos de entre 5 y 6 litros en conducción urbana.
La suspensión es muy blanda, por lo tanto, transmite comodidad al habitáculo al rodar sobre baches, badenes y demás obstáculos de la ciudad.

La unidad probada del Mii, equipa asistente de arranque en pendiente, climatizador, pantalla multimedia a color, tapicería  y salpicadero exclusivos de la versión “Cosmopolitan” y techo solar retráctil.
Además equipa el Seat Sound System que optimiza en buena medida la calidad de sonido, dándole un nivel desconocido por muchos compactos de la competencia.
Como ya hemos hablado anteriormente, los acabados tienen un buen ajuste y una mejorable calidad, todo está en su sitio y su conducción y manejo de elementos se hace muy sencilla.

Nunca me han entusiasmado los coches pequeños pero tras unos días rodando con él he sabido conocer y valorar su filosofía.
El Seat Mii me ha permitido circular por el centro de la ciudad con soltura, aparcar con mayor facilidad y rodar por la autovía sin complejos.
Las mejores esencias van en frascos pequeños, y el Mii posee esa esencia urbanita que le hace necesario en el mercado actual.
